"DUST ON THE CHESS BOARD"
It is a matter of public record that for many years military strategists had debated the need for a strong base in the South Atlantic, which would control the waters between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans in the event of any Soviet threat. The subject had also been discussed privately between members of the three most powerful industries in the World, namely, banking, oil and arms.
It is common knowledge that one of the potentially richest and influential nations in South America had stagnated under military rule, thus depriving the international business interests their just return on investment.
"DUST ON THE CHESS BOARD" provides an insight into the activities of these industries in geopolitical affairs and an alternative view of events leading to the "Falklands Conflict."
Many of these events, some of which intertwined with the life of an English businessman, are true. The character, Adam Tate, is necessarily fictionalized.
